Historic House Reminds of Pioneer Roots
Innovation and Imagination Celebrated at Local Museum
ROUTE 66 PLACES TO VISIT: STROUD, 'ROUTE 66 SPIRIT OF AMERICA MUSEUM'
Along the charming downtown of Main Street Stroud, Oklahoma sits a non-assuming storefront with a bright neon sign. This mild-mannered building presents itself as a museum, but it is so much more. In coming weeks, new displays will be added. Already, the museum has been hosting a public speaking series, one Sat. a month and podcasting it online.
The Route 66 Spirit of America Museum is a portal, a nexus, a step into the world of dreams...a reminder of the "better selves" so many urged humanity to aspire to over the centuries.
The museum sitting beside a road of adventure and history is a tip of the fedora hat to the positive and cooperative actions begun through shared dreams, aspirations, and a determination to go beyond what was to forge what "could be" in the future for all humanity.
The Founder and Director of the Museum is Steve Brant and with the museum he fulfils a lifelong dream. A dream that was stirred to life watching on screen heroes who broadened his world, sparked his imagination, and gave a glimpse what might happen when people could work together in peace and hope.
Exhibits include numerous rare artifacts related Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Star Trek universe but so much more. More than mere nostalgia or hobbyist displays, the museum encourages thought about the future and how each one might be the element of change.
As Steve Brant notes: "Our democracy is called " the great American experiment", because the Founding Father's knew their dream would only be achieved by continuously improving how we organize ourselves: as people, as communities, and as a nation. Their genius came in not just the vision they gave us (a nation that recognizes "all are created equal" and have the right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness") but the process as well...one in which even the Constitution can be amended."
This phonebooth, so evocative, of the transformation of Clark Kent into Superman, asks each visitor "who they will be today?"
You are invited, states Brant, to visit this unique museum celebrating America's innovative history - as well as the stories we tell that help us be constructive members of society. "The "Route 66 Spirit of American Museum" seeks to inspire people to find ways they can help America take its next Big Leap forward."
The museum is located on Main Street/Route 66 in Stroud, Oklahoma (220 W. Main Street), right next to the True Value Hardware Store.

New History Book of Stroud (OK) and Lincoln Co., Oklahoma
Amazing America:: Stroud, Ok & Lincoln County [ Hardcover ]by Stan Paregien (Author) was released May 15, 2025 and is available on Amazon now (see link below)
"This book tells the story of Stroud, Oklahoma and the county in which it is located: Lincoln County, Oklahoma. The reader needs to know this ain't your grandpa's dry and boring history book. As the author, I took the unusual path of telling this remarkable story in the "first person" style, grammatically. I dug way down deep in my own memories and my photo albums to illustrate many of the "bones" of my book. There are nearly 100 photos and a whole gaggle of graphics (over 120). Yep, the book is doggoned well-illustrated. And it is just flat easy-to-read, too. That is so in two ways: I try to keep the words fairly basic and the sentences real short, comparatively ; and (2) the actual font I chose for readability is 14 pt. Times New Roman. That 14 pt. font is larger than a billboard, compared to most books and even most Bible."
